One of the most vital and vibrant parts of our church locally and globally has been the the Ministry of Women. A number of women have, over the years, done magnificent ministry.
In the recent past that group has been exploring ways to redefine themselves in the 21st Century. With all of the changes in the world, the community and our congregation, that has not been an easy task. Even so the Women of Westchester have persevered.
As we move futher into 2007 we see that the warm spirit of our women is becoming a sharp and wonderful glow of energy. We are seeing, in wonderful ways, a stiring of spirits responding to the voice of God.

- Our Ministry of Worship is led by Marion Godding, a long time congregant.
- Three of the four Council of Ministry Executive Team members (Gloria Callahan, Marion Godding, Bev Staiger) are female.
- The General Minister and President of our denomination, the highest elected official, is Rev. Dr. Sharon Watkins. http://www.disciples.org/watkins/(First Photo)
- Adonna Bowman (Second Photo) was a life long member of our church before moving to Indianapolis to become the Executive Director of the Office of Disciples Women. She found that WCC was the place to discover that the business and life skills acquirred as a toy company executive were an important
part o
f God's plan for her ministerial life. During the years she has served the ministry of women around the world, we watch with pride as she and hundreds of women prayerfully work together supporting each other in response to the call of God.
The "Living Labratory" faith community proclaimed in the WCC mission and vision statement is more than a phrase. We invite you to join us in exploration and discivery.
Thank you for your prayers. Don't stop now. The best is yet to come.
